
Marla Skye graduated from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. At the College she studied in the areas of drawing, painting and silversmithing. While living in Santa Fe Marla worked at a shop on the Plaza selling sterling Hopi, Navajo and Zuni Jewelry. Working on the Plaza she learned a great deal about Southwest Native American Jewelry, knowledge which she uses to select and also create quality pieces for Eagle Feather Jewelry. Marla has been creating art since she was a child. She was also influenced by her father who is a woodcarver and artist. Marla also studied jewelry making with hopi silversmith masters Michael Kabotie and Lawrence Saufkie while attending a workshop in California.
